Musee Aeronautique d'Orange; Orange, May 20, 2019
Museum of the Fifth Squadron; Text and Photograph's by Alex van Noye
The aviation museum in Orange is a small and very full and crowded museum which is located just outside the city of Orange in the vicinity of the airbase. The museum is operated by a group of aircraft enthusiasts who over the years have collected and exhibited French-made fighter aircraft. The planes are from the Cold War period until the contemporary era. The group that runs the museum is the Association of the Fifth Squadron (Association “Les amis de la 5eme escadre”). The museum is elongated and very narrow, therefore the planes are all very close together positioned. The aircraft have suffered a bit over the years and there are often canvases over the cockpit which is a pity.
